TIGER – FosTering ehealth and social Innovations as Game-changers in sEnior and Remote care
Until summer 2027, the ICS will act as lead partner in another EU project called TIGER, which, with a project volume of just under €2.7 million, is intensively examining international solutions for elderly and remote care. Together with the Geriatric Health Centres (GGZ) of the City of Graz and Human.technology Styria (HTS), valuable expertise from across the Alpine region is being pooled to support Styrian SMEs in the healthcare sector in developing new and innovative products.
The aim of the project is to give Styrian companies access to international knowledge and specialised innovation services. These new impulses are intended to drive forward the development of products and services in elderly and remote care, which are urgently needed due to the growing shortage of skilled workers. Targeted innovation services such as the ‘Living Lab’, where companies can test their products in a realistic environment, and expert assessments to evaluate market opportunities provide Styrian SMEs with valuable support in product development.
A key component of the project is the development of an online platform that promotes exchange between experts, companies and innovative offerings. This platform is expected to be operational by 2026 and will open up the Alpine region (Austria, Slovenia, Italy, France and Germany) as an innovation hub for the participating companies. SMEs that already have initial solutions in the field of remote care can receive valuable support from the project in developing suitable business models.
Other project partners include:
- Innovation and Start-up Centre Nuremberg-Fürth-Erlangen
- OTH – Technical University
- Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry
- Association EUROBIOMED
- Upper Adriatic Technology Park
- Ca’ Foscari University of Venice
- Ljubljana Technology Park
- IZRIIS Institute for Research, Training and Consulting in Public Health and Digital Health
With the EU project TIGER, the ICS is implementing another important measure to prepare local SMEs for the challenges of the future and strengthen their competitiveness in the global healthcare market.
The TIGER project is co-financed by the European Union’s Interreg Alpine Space Programme through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
