Successfully entering distant markets with the Internationalization Voucher

The Scheifling-based company Zeman Bauelemente Produktionsgesellschaft m.b.H. was able to conquer the Indonesian and Australian markets with the support of the ICS.

As a global market leader, Zeman researches, develops, and produces innovative and groundbreaking automation solutions for steel construction. The second-generation family-run company was founded in 1965 and is part of the privately owned Zeman Group. This group comprises a total of 20 companies and employs over 700 people across Europe.

The core competence of Zeman Bauelemente consists of innovative and often robot-assisted solutions for steel construction, such as the so-called “STEEL BEAM ASSEMBLER – SBA,” a fully automated production line for virtually any type of steel beam. This groundbreaking technology is already in use in many large steel construction companies worldwide and helps to significantly increase efficiency and product quality. Through the automated assembly of add-on parts and their flawless positioning, projects can be manufactured with unprecedented speed and precision.

Funding consultancy at the ICS

As part of the advisory services provided by Marie Peinsith regarding the go-international internationalization offensive—a funding initiative of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber—the company was introduced to a variety of ICS services and funding programs that were previously unknown to them. The company was also supported in the application process and the management of funding applications. As a result, several applications were successfully processed.

“Thanks to the competent and successful advisory services provided by the ICS, we were able to open up new markets and already implement successful projects for our company.”

Support for the development of distant markets

For the market development of the new target country Indonesia, the 2020 Internationalization Voucher enabled the financing of an initial sales trip, including participation in a trade fair for the metalworking industry. This has already resulted in a concrete large-scale project with an Indonesian state-owned enterprise, which is expected to be implemented.

The 2017 Distant Market Voucher significantly paved the way for Zeman to enter the Australian market; market entry barriers were thus considerably reduced, and orders in the field of fully automated solutions for steel beam assembly (SBA, SPS) were acquired.

Consequently, these ICS services helped the Styrian company achieve success in market entry and order processing!
