Data Processing on Our Website (“On-Page”)

Use of Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in the internet browser or by the internet browser on the user’s computer system. When a user visits a website, a cookie may be stored on the user’s operating system. This cookie contains a characteristic string of characters that enables the browser to be uniquely identified when the website is visited again.

We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly. Some elements of our website require that the visiting browser can be identified even after a page change. In addition, we use cookies on our website that allow us to analyze users’ browsing behavior.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies and technically necessary cookies is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies for analysis purposes, where the user has given consent in this regard, is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

The purpose of using technically necessary cookies is to make it easier for users to use websites. Some functions of our website cannot be offered without the use of cookies. For these, it is necessary that the browser is recognized again even after a page change.

The user data collected through technically necessary cookies is not used to create user profiles.

The analysis cookies are used for the purpose of improving the quality of our website and its content. Through the analysis cookies, we learn how the website is used and can continuously optimize our offering. This purpose also constitutes our legitimate interest in processing personal data pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Cookies are stored on the user’s computer and transmitted from it to our site. As a user, you therefore have full control over the use of cookies. By changing the settings in your internet browser, you can disable or restrict the transmission of cookies. Cookies that have already been stored can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. If cookies are disabled for our website, it may no longer be possible to use all functions of the website to their full extent.

Web Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). The use includes the “Universal Analytics” mode of operation. This makes it possible to assign data, sessions, and interactions across multiple devices to a pseudonymous user ID, thereby analyzing a user’s activities across devices.

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies” (see above), text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA.

However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google.

The legal basis for the processing of users’ personal data is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide the website operator with other services related to website and internet usage.

The processing of users’ personal data enables us to analyze our users’ browsing behavior. By evaluating the data obtained, we are able to compile information about the use of the individual components of our website. This helps us to continuously improve our website and its user-friendliness.

This purpose also constitutes our legitimate interest in the data processing. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Section 15(3) TMG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The anonymization of the IP address sufficiently takes into account users’ interest in the protection of their personal data.

Sessions and campaigns are terminated after a certain period of time has elapsed. By default, sessions are terminated after 30 minutes of inactivity and campaigns after six months. The maximum time limit for campaigns is two years. For more information on terms of use and data protection, please visit https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or https://policies.google.com/?hl=de.

You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate setting in your browser software; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser add-on (anonymizeIP). Opt-out cookies prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website. To prevent collection by Universal Analytics across different devices, you must carry out the opt-out on all systems used.

Facebook

We sometimes use the Facebook “pixel” on our websites. This allows the behavior of users to be tracked after they have clicked on an advertisement on Facebook. This enables us to evaluate advertisements for statistical and market research purposes and optimize future advertising measures. Another benefit is being able to determine whether and which interactions (e.g., downloads) have taken place on the website.

This function also serves to present visitors to this website with interest-based Facebook advertisements (“Facebook ads”) while they are visiting the social network Facebook (see Custom Audiences). For this purpose, Facebook Pixel has been implemented on our website. Facebook Pixel establishes a direct connection to Facebook’s servers when the website is visited. This transmits to the Facebook server that you have visited this website, and Facebook associates this information with your personal Facebook user account.

We are not provided with any personal data in this process. At the same time, the data is also stored and processed by Facebook itself, enabling Facebook to establish a connection to the respective Facebook user profile. Facebook may use this data for its own advertising purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s data use policy. Consent for this lies within Facebook’s domain and cannot be influenced by us. For more information on the collection and use of data by Facebook, as well as your rights in this regard and options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Facebook’s privacy policy.

Our websites use Facebook’s “Custom Audiences” remarketing function, whereby the Facebook Pixel integrated into our websites allows Facebook to recognize registered visitors, along with information about which of our pages they visited. These visitors can then be shown targeted advertisements.

YouTube

Our website uses plugins from YouTube, a site operated by Google. The operator of the site is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

When you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. In the process, the YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited.

If you are logged into your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to associate your browsing behavior directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

The use of YouTube serves the purpose of presenting our online offerings in an appealing manner. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

For more information on how user data is handled, please see YouTube’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Newsletter

Our newsletter records opening and click behavior. Specifically, the following information is tracked: time of delivery, time of opening, duration of opening, IP address at the time of opening, email program used (mail client), which link was clicked, and the time of the click.

This data is stored and processed solely for the purpose of being able to send recipients tailored and relevant content. This data is processed exclusively within the European Union and is not passed on to third parties or merged with other data. The data is stored until the newsletter is unsubscribed from.

You can cancel your newsletter subscription at any time by using the link at the bottom of the newsletter or by sending us a message at office@ic-steiermark.at.

If you do not wish to provide us with your data, it may not be possible to complete the consulting service or other service. An existing contract may therefore no longer be carried out and may need to be terminated.

If the processing of personal data goes beyond contractual or legal obligations, the ICS obtains the consent of business partners separately. In the case of consent, the data is processed exclusively for the stated purpose.

Consent given can be withdrawn at any time. Withdrawal may be given either in writing or verbally.

Recipients

Recipients of personal data are ICS employees who require this data to fulfill contractual and legal obligations.

Depending on the assignment, it may be necessary to forward data to third parties. Inquiries that cannot be processed by the ICS are therefore forwarded, for the purpose of their fulfillment, to the relevant points of contact, such as the responsible Foreign Trade Centers.

Your Rights

You generally have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, withdrawal, and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have otherwise been infringed in any way, you can file a complaint with the supervisory authority.
