Recap | Diplomatic Meetings – ASEAN Ambassadors for Working Discussions @ WKO Styria

On May 27, 2025, WKO Styria, together with the ICS Internationalization Center Styria, had the honor of welcoming high-ranking guests from Southeast Asia to Graz: Ambassadors and high-ranking representatives of the ASEAN embassies in Austria (Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam) came for an exchange and working discussions with leading Styrian companies and organizations that are already active in the ASEAN region or see market potential there.

Following introductory presentations, Chamber Director Karl-Heinz Dernoscheg and ICS Managing Director Karl Hartleb discussed the current state of cooperation as well as country-specific, regional opportunities and potential for deeper collaboration. In addition to economic perspectives, the geopolitical context was also a focus – for example, how ASEAN and the EU can react to global changes and what role multilateral cooperation plays in this.

An afternoon full of valuable networking, inspiring conversations, and exciting insights into the dynamic markets of Southeast Asia – still largely untapped potential for many Styrian companies!
