The sixth edition of the “Health Tech Hub Styria,” which took place on April 15 and 16, 2024, at the Med Uni Aula in Graz, impressively demonstrated how crucial cooperation is for progress in the healthcare sector. With the motto “Future in Diagnostics and Therapy,” the event attracted around 250 participants from Austria and the entire Alps-Adriatic region, setting the course for future developments in health technology. Guests also included partner organizations from the New Alpe Adria Network (NAAN).
A central highlight was the 230 B2B meetings organized by the Enterprise Europe Network team. These meetings provided a unique platform for startups and representatives from industry, research, and healthcare institutions to build networks, initiate collaborations, and drive innovative projects forward. The dynamic atmosphere of these discussions was a testament to the lively and interactive nature of the event.
Karin Hölbling from the Internationalization Center Styria moderated the session “BREAKING BORDERS: Strategies for Health Market Entry in the Alps Adriatic Region” with guests from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, and Switzerland. Cross-border strategies for market entry in the healthcare sector were discussed. Experts from Aussenwirtschaft Austria took the stage:
Leonie Pfister from the Foreign Trade Center Zurich, Lara Cossettini from Padua, Wilhelm Nest from Ljubljana, and Gerhard Schlattl from Zagreb shared the latest trends in the Alps-Adriatic region and experiences from their daily work. This discussion highlighted not only the challenges but also the numerous opportunities for companies looking to gain a foothold in the healthcare markets of the Alps-Adriatic region.
Guided tours of the Medical Science City Graz, including the Biobank and Joanneum Research Health, offered participants insights into the local research landscape and innovative strength.
The Health Tech Hub Styria 2024 set new standards in promoting innovation and international cooperation in the healthcare sector and left a lasting impression on the participants.
