Event Report: Strategy & Networking Meeting INDIA

On May 22, 2024, the Strategy & Networking Meeting India took place at our Internationalization Center Styria (ICS). The event provided an excellent platform for Styrian companies to gain valuable insights into the Indian market, network with the Indian business community in Styria, and establish potential partnerships. With over 60 participants, the interest in the event exceeded our expectations.

The event began with a warm welcome from Karl Hartleb, Managing Director of the ICS, followed by opening remarks from Herbert Ritter, Vice President of the Styrian Economic Chamber. Christina Ulrich, Project Manager of the India Focus Program, guided the audience through the program and was pleased to welcome such a large number of participants.

HE Mr. Shambhu S. Kumaran, the new Indian Ambassador to Austria, then delivered an enthusiastic keynote speech on India’s enormous economic development and the momentum currently prevailing there. His presentation met with great interest and sparked lively discussions. Rene Seibt, CEO of KS Engineers, subsequently offered valuable insights into business activities in India and shared his experiences and strategies with the participants. Following this, Susanne Feiel and Clemens Weihs from the University of Leoben presented their approaches to student recruitment in India, which was of particular interest to the other educational institutions in attendance.

At the end of the event, the Ambassador suggested that the participants of the ICS business mission to India in March share their experiences with the audience. They spoke about the valuable contacts and insights they had gained during the trip. Their personal perspectives enriched the event and provided those present with practical examples of successful business initiation in India.

To conclude, Ms. Ulrich presented the numerous other ICS activities focused on India and invited participants to share their suggestions for further program planning for 2025 with the ICS, before the event transitioned into an informal networking and brainstorming session. Participants took the opportunity to establish specific contacts and present their business ideas in individual conversations and round-table sessions. The positive feedback from participants regarding the intensive and productive exchange opportunities was particularly noteworthy.

We are very proud that after five months of the India Focus Program, we have successfully engaged the Indian community in Styria and launched a vibrant Styrian-Indian business platform. The ICS would like to thank all speakers, participants, and partners for a successful event.

We look forward to future joint projects.
