The winners of the 2024 Styrian Export Award have been announced!

Tuesday, November 5, 2024

This evening, under the well-established motto “Cheers to Export”, the 2024 Styrian Export Awards were presented. In the festive setting of the Aiola im Schloss and in the presence of numerous prominent guests, those Styrian companies that strengthen the local economy through innovation and outstanding export achievements were honored.

This year’s award winners include Meteka GmbH (Small Business category), Fuchshofer Präzisionstechnik GmbH (Medium-Sized Business category), and Elin Motoren GmbH (Large Business category).

ICS Managing Director Karl Hartleb, together with authorized signatory Daniela GuĂź, welcomed top Styrian entrepreneurs and former Export Award winners, as well as other distinguished guests, including Styrian Economic Affairs Councillor Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, WKO Styria President Josef Herk, IV Styria President Kurt Maier, ICS Supervisory Board Chairman JĂĽrgen Roth, ORF correspondent Christian WehrschĂĽtz, Executive Board Member of Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark Rainer Stelzer, and Christoph Kovacic, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial Committee for Foreign Trade at WKO Styria.

“The 2024 Export Award winners represent the pinnacle of our successful export companies and serve as role models for those who still have their internationalization ahead of them. With the support of ICS and our Styrian partners, every path is open to them.”

Karl Hartleb, ICS Managing Director

“Especially in economically challenging times, it is of great importance to put a spotlight on those companies that make enormous contributions to Styria every day. This applies in particular to the businesses we are honoring with the Export Award today. Through their achievements, they contribute significantly to our prosperity and strengthen our business location through their innovative power. The competitiveness of our economy must therefore be a top priority, as every second job in Styria depends on exports.”

Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, Economic Affairs Councillor

“Products from Styria are innovative and sustainable, and therefore enjoy an outstanding reputation far beyond our borders. It is also thanks to this quality that Styrian foreign trade has achieved an unparalleled track record of success in recent years, even though we currently find ourselves facing an extremely tense situation. This makes the global success stories of this year’s Styrian Export Award winners all the more remarkable.”

Josef Herk, WKO Styria President

“A country’s competitiveness is closely linked to its export strength. Currently, however, our industrial companies are coming under increasing pressure in international markets due to costs and excessive regulation. We must therefore work to once again get ahead of the curve. Because only if we are competitive can we successfully conduct foreign trade and thus secure our prosperity in the long term.”

Kurt Maier, IV Styria President

“The difficult times announced last year have now arrived, and they are also impacting exports. Austria and Styria urgently need to work on their international competitiveness (excessive labor costs, energy costs, too much bureaucracy, etc.). In challenging times like these, ICS is more important than ever in providing advice and support to all Styrian companies seeking to export.”

JĂĽrgen Roth, ICS Supervisory Board Chairman

“Especially in economically uncertain and turbulent times, we must be well positioned on the ground when it comes to exports. The IWS, with its foreign trade offices, and the Provincial Committee for Foreign Trade at the Styrian Chamber of Commerce provide strong support for our Styrian companies. Together with Vienna, Brussels, and the WTO, we are working to establish the right measures for sound economic foundations and framework conditions. So that Styria remains what it is: a strong business location with a high export rate.”

Manfred Kainz, Chairman of the Provincial Committee for Foreign Trade Styria

Thanks to the sponsorship of the Provincial Committee for Foreign Trade at WKO Styria and Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark, the award ceremony and the entire 2024 Styrian EXPORT DAY were made possible. The 2024 Styrian Export Awards not only celebrate the winners but also honor the entire export industry as a dynamic and indispensable driver of growth for Styria.
