The 2025 Styrian Export Award winners have been announced!

Courage, innovative strength, and global vision – these are the winners of the 2025 Styrian Export Award.

On the evening of September 18, 2025, awards were presented to those companies whose extraordinary achievements make Styria visible worldwide, contribute significantly to the state’s prosperity, and serve as role models:

  • HTSolutions GmbH (Small Business Category) – Precision from Bruck an der Mur that sets new standards in motorsport and aviation.
  • DEWETRON GmbH (Medium-Sized Business Category) – Measurement technology from Grambach that inspires engineers and scientists around the globe.
  • Sandvik Mining and Construction G.m.b.H. (Large Business Category) – Machines from Zeltweg that build tunnels and develop raw materials worldwide.

The festive award ceremony, held as part of the 20th anniversary of the Internationalization Center Styria (ICS), was dedicated to moving success stories, lived pioneering spirit, and a great deal of pride in the Styrian economy. The presence of high-ranking guests of honor such as State Councilor Willibald Ehrenhöfer, WKO President Josef Herk, WKO Vice Presidents Herbert Ritter and Gabi Lechner, Director of WKO Styria Karl Heinz Dernoscheg, IV Styria Vice President Markus Ritter, IV Styria Managing Director Christoph Robinson, Christoph Kovacic, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Foreign Trade (Sponsor), Executive Director Florian Stryeck (Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark, Sponsor), and Michael Otter, Head of AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA, further highlighted the significance of this award.

“This year’s winners demonstrate that Styrian companies are successful worldwide despite headwinds; in this sense, they are role models for all domestic firms,” explains ICS Managing Director Karl Hartleb. “They overcome challenges arising from a relatively expensive location as well as from trade policy upheavals. We at the ICS will continue to strive to provide optimal support in the future; the Styrian economy can count on that.”

Karl Hartleb, ICS Managing Director

“Exports are of central importance to our business location, and the success of domestic companies in international markets is a key factor for prosperity in our state. They secure jobs, generate added value, and move Styria forward, making it visible worldwide. Today’s winners are impressive examples of courage, drive, and innovative spirit. They show how Styrian companies grow successfully and conquer markets with a clear eye for global opportunities.”

Willibald Ehrenhöfer, State Councilor for Economic Affairs

“Products from Styria are innovative and sustainable, enjoying an excellent reputation far beyond our borders. It is also thanks to this quality that Styrian foreign trade has been able to show an unprecedented growth course in recent years. A course that produces remarkable success stories even in economically challenging times like these, as the winners of this year’s Styrian Export Award prove. To continue this story in the future, secure framework conditions in the form of free trade agreements are needed.”

Josef Herk, President of WKO Styria

“Styrian industry is characterized by its export strength. However, this strength can only be further expanded if the framework conditions at the location secure our competitiveness and we can enter into reliable partnerships through trade agreements. We currently see a clear need for action in both areas. Austria must understand the EU-Mercosur agreement as a cost-free economic stimulus – an impulse that would provide an important glimmer of hope for the export-oriented industry, especially in challenging times.”

Markus Ritter, Vice President of IV Styria

“The world is in transition. Wars, tariffs, and shifting power dynamics have a sometimes dramatic impact on the global export economy. Additional factors such as high energy costs, personnel costs, bureaucracy, and trade agreements that are difficult to finalize do not make it easier for Europe, Austria, and Styria to remain competitive. We at the ICS are pushing back and supporting Styrian export-oriented companies in all matters. ICS = One-Stop-Shop.”

Jürgen Roth, Chairman of the ICS Supervisory Board

“Styria is a ‘STRONG BUSINESS LOCATION WITH A HIGH EXPORT RATIO.’ But exports in particular react to economically uncertain and turbulent times and require sensible and clearly business-oriented framework conditions. To ensure our export companies remain well-positioned locally, they receive the best possible support from the ICS, the State Committee for Foreign Trade, and the Foreign Trade Centers of the Economic Chamber organization, and are represented in terms of interest policy in both Vienna and Brussels.”

Manfred Kainz, Chairman of the Styrian State Committee for Foreign Trade

The ICS warmly congratulates the winners and simultaneously honors all those who accompany this path to success – from partners and companions to supporters who make the internationalization of Styria possible. Special thanks go to the sponsors Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark and the State Committee for Foreign Trade of WKO Styria, whose commitment makes a significant contribution to the success of this award.
