Post-event Report | CFO Club Styria – Business Breakfast

Focus on the Clean Industrial Deal (CID)

What specific measures are planned under the Clean Industrial Deal (CID)? What is the status of the timeline and financing for the economic plan? And what does it mean specifically for Austrian companies? These and other questions were answered for numerous representatives of the Styrian economy during an exclusive business breakfast hosted by Deloitte and the CFO Club Styria.

Graz/Vienna, June 11, 2025 – The Clean Industrial Deal (CID) aims to accelerate decarbonization while securing the future of the manufacturing industry in Europe.

During an exclusive CFO business breakfast, around 30 managers learned firsthand details about the economic plan and its background at the Internationalization Center Styria.

The goal of the plan is to promote EU competitiveness and make industry more resilient to global challenges. How is this to be achieved?

“The EU’s Clean Industrial Deal rests on six pillars: affordable energy through the expansion of renewable sources and long-term power contracts; financing exceeding 100 billion euros for clean industrial projects and a decarbonization bank; secured access to raw materials and promotion of the circular economy; reduction of bureaucracy through the reform of key EU laws; targeted promotion of demand for clean European products; and investment in skills and jobs through education and training,” explained EU expert Reinhold Lopatka.

“Overall, the Clean Industrial Deal provides Austrian companies with a solid foundation to become greener and more competitive – provided they take advantage of the subsidies and adapt quickly to the new requirements,” commented Friedrich Möstl, Partner at Deloitte Austria, on the findings of the presentation.

The topic of the presentation was also the subject of lively discussions among the guests in attendance.

Among them were Martin Schaller (CEO of Raiffeisenlandesbank), Christian Strobel-Ludwig (Regional Director of Bank Austria), Yorck Schmidt (CFO of AVL), Rob Bekkers (CEO of pewag Traction & Security Chain Group), Paul Swoboda (CFO of GRAWE), Nina Zechner (Federation of Styrian Industries), City Councilor for Economic Affairs Günter Riegler, Oliver Wieser (Vogel & Co), WKO Vice President Jürgen Roth, and many more.
