Kleine Zeitung Business Talk at ICS Graz

At the most recent Business Talk at ICS Graz, it became clear how much global developments have immediate effects on domestic businesses.

The focus was on the consequences of US tariffs against China, which are also strongly felt by the Styrian Sattler Group, a leading international family business in the textile sector. Although Sattler produces its specialty textiles in Austria, they are manufactured for the US market by Chinese contract manufacturers – and thus fall under the high US tariffs.

“We think in scenarios and try to react as quickly as possible,” said Lisbeth Wilding (Sattler AG) in conversation with Daniela Guß (ICS) and Xenia Daum (Kleine Zeitung). It became clear that companies must remain more flexible than ever to survive in an uncertain global economy.

The Business Talk once again showed that international politics has long been a regional reality – with concrete consequences for Styrian businesses and their employees.

With formats like these, we at the ICS Internationalization Center Styria offer a platform for exchange, classification, and orientation. Decision-makers thus receive valuable impulses to better position themselves in a dynamic environment.

The keen interest and lively discussion underscore the importance of addressing current global developments early on – and jointly developing strategies that will secure the competitiveness of the Styrian economy in the long term.
