International green tech delegations visit Styria

In addition to a timber construction delegation, two other high-level delegations from Latin America used their trip to “Build’n Green 2026” in Vienna to gain a better understanding of Styria as a business location. The visit programme was organised and coordinated by Simone Jelitzka-Kahlen on behalf of ICS.

The Colombian delegation in the field of waste management, comprising around 20 people, began with a visit to the Digital Waste Lab at Montanuniversität Leoben in St. Michael. The programme offered targeted insights into Styrian best practices along the entire value chain: from a visit to the Digital Waste Lab at Montanuniversität Leoben in St. Michael, to the Resource Park of Holding Graz, through to company presentations and exchange formats with Binder + Co, Mettop and the Green Tech Valley Cluster. The programme concluded with a visit to Komptech GmbH in Frohnleiten, where CSO Ewald Konrad provided insights into the internationally active company, which offers machines and system solutions for processing waste and biomass, thereby making a key contribution to the circular economy and resource efficiency worldwide.

At the same time, a delegation of around 25 people from Brazil was visiting Styria. Leading representatives from the water, wastewater and infrastructure sectors first received a concise overview of Styria as a business location at ICS from Managing Director Karl Hartleb, as well as insights into the Green Tech Valley Cluster from Managing Director Bernhard Puttinger. The approximately 25 leading stakeholders from Brazil’s water, wastewater and infrastructure sector then continued on to Andritz AG and RHV Hallstättersee to explore specific fields of application and technological solutions on site.
