The ICS was once again strongly represented at this year’s Zukunftstag on October 9. In addition to our exhibition booth, where participants could receive personal consultations, ICS Managing Director Karl Hartleb shared his experiences of expat life with students of the International Management program at FH Joanneum during an exciting Deep Talk on working internationally, together with Manfred Kainz (Chairman of Foreign Trade) and Veronika Wolf (Managing Director of CINT).
Our microsession Cooperation Talks Beyond Borders also drew a large crowd. Together with Daniela Guss and Iris Edler-Stiegler, around 70 participants embarked on an exciting journey into the world of international cooperation. The focus was on the success factors for effective partnerships—and the results were promising.
In small groups, participants discussed in depth what sets successful partnerships apart.
Participants highlighted several key points:
- Complementary skills and resources: Successful cooperation thrives on synergy. It was particularly emphasized that, alongside expertise, human connection is crucial for fruitful collaboration.
- Economic viability: Initiatives must be sustainable and economically sound. Political framework conditions should also not be overlooked.
- Long-term strategies: Clear, future-oriented strategies are essential to aligning regional, national, and international goals.
- Cultural awareness: Understanding cultural nuances was identified as a key success factor. Only those who respect different perspectives can succeed on an international level.
- Clear added value: The benefits of a partnership must be clearly recognizable for all parties involved—only then can a true win-win situation emerge.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all participants for their valuable contributions. We would also like to thank our partners: BABEG | Success in Carinthia, DIH SÜD GmbH, ARGE Plattform Automatisierungstechnik Steiermark as well as Insort GmbH, Graz University of Technology, Cosylab, Infineon Technologies and Silicon Austria Labs. Together, we took an important step toward cross-border cooperation that day.
