In mid-June, on a Friday afternoon, we had the pleasure of welcoming 6th and 7th-grade students from the Akademisches Gymnasium Graz to the ICS, providing them with insights into the world of internationalization and foreign trade.
During the visit, the young people received a practical overview of the diverse tasks of the ICS and learned how Styrian companies are supported in their activities on international markets. Current figures and examples were also used to illustrate the great importance of foreign trade for Styria as a business location.
Since our neighboring country, Slovenia, is a particular focus of one of the courses, our colleague Bernd Andersson, Deputy Commercial Counsellor at the Advantage Austria office in Ljubljana, joined us live. He provided exciting insights into Slovenia’s economic development, highlighted opportunities and potential for exporters, and explained the close economic ties between Slovenia and Styria. As an important partner in the Alps-Adriatic region, Slovenia plays a significant role for many local companies.
In the subsequent discussion, the students took the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the international economy, export markets, and career prospects in an international environment.
