India is one of the world’s most dynamic growth markets, and the interest of Styrian companies is increasing. At the ICS format “Law & Finance in India,” organized by our ICS India Project Manager, Mag. Christina Ulrich, it became clear: “Interest in India has definitely arrived in the SME sector! We are receiving more and more inquiries from all areas.” With over 40 participants, the ICS event was once again filled to capacity.
To begin, Dr. Shivam Subhash from CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz Rechtsanwälte provided practical insights into the legal framework for market entry: from company structures and partner due diligence to tax specifics. Subsequently, Himanshu Singh, ICICI Country Head Germany, outlined India’s economic development and illuminated the “Roadmap to a Developed Economy by 2047.” ICICI is India’s largest private bank and operates internationally. Marion Kikinger demonstrated how companies can be specifically supported in the internationalization process with the current Go-International funding offers. Finally, Kemal Mustedanagic from OeKB presented concrete options for financing and securing international projects. Participants showed particular interest in the so-called “Shopping Lines” as a form of credit line that banks (e.g., for their clients’ business in India) can use to finance deliveries from multiple exporters.
The event concluded with intensive networking and a clear message: with targeted knowledge and strategic preparation, market entry into India can be successfully achieved.
The ICS is happy to support you on this path with expertise, experience, and a strong international network!
