With a full house and great interest from Styria’s export industry, the ICS specialist event “Fit in Customs Law 2025 – From the Basics to the US Customs Package” took place on May 7, 2025. The full-day event offered a comprehensive overview of current developments in customs law – and was already completely booked out in advance. Clear evidence of the high relevance and ongoing need for information in this field.
Christina Ulrich (ICS) guided the program with charm and professionalism. She was supported by top-tier experts:
Tamara Mitterbacher (Deloitte Styria) covered the fundamentals of customs law at the start; Michael Vorraber (Deloitte Styria) then continued in greater depth, focusing in particular on the current changes in the Pan-Euro-Med rules of origin – a topic currently occupying many exporting companies intensively – and provided in-depth insights into specific specialized topics in customs law and special customs procedures.
The event concluded with practical insights into customs-relevant processes in day-to-day business operations in the USA, presented by Astrid Isopp (Deloitte Vienna).
A special highlight was the live video link-up with Ms. Lack-Hageneder, Austrian Trade Commissioner in Washington, who provided an exclusive overview of the US Customs Package and current developments in transatlantic trade:
The overwhelmingly positive response and the lively professional exchange impressively demonstrated: “Fit in Customs Law” is an indispensable knowledge update for Styrian export businesses. Anyone who couldn’t secure a spot this year should mark their calendar early for the next date!
