On March 20, our event “Attracting Skilled Workers from the Philippines” took place at the Federation of Austrian Industries in Graz, offering exciting insights, top-tier agencies, and a clear goal: to highlight new ways to secure skilled workers.

Nine renowned recruitment agencies from the Philippines presented their know-how and expertise in placing highly qualified professionals in the fields of industry, trade, and tourism as part of the event. From CNC millers to IT experts to kitchen and hospitality staff – the demand among Austrian companies is high, and the Philippines offers enormous potential.

Following the presentation by the Philippine recruitment association and the participating agencies, an expert lecture examined the key success factors in recruiting and integrating Filipino workers. Particular attention was paid to training standards, language proficiency, and cultural aspects – crucial points for sustainable and successful cooperation.

Afterwards, numerous Styrian companies and recruitment agencies took the opportunity to engage in direct dialogue with the Philippine agencies during individual B2B meetings. These discussions provided a valuable setting to address specific inquiries, explore potential partnerships, and take the first steps toward future collaborations.

Exchange with international recruiting partners is an important building block in actively addressing the ongoing shortage of skilled workers in Styria and throughout Austria. This event marked an effective step toward international recruitment.

Following the event, the Philippine delegation had the special opportunity to tour the Siemens Mobility plant in Graz. Thomas Penz guided the group through the impressive facility with great dedication and expertise, providing fascinating insights into the various production stages, from the manufacturing of initial prototypes to the painting of individual train components.

The participants were impressed by the modern infrastructure and the technical expertise on site.
