Although the entire world faced new challenges in spring 2020, TLL The Longevity Labs GmbH, known as Longevity Labs+, managed to bring innovative new products to market despite the difficult circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic and multiple lockdowns, writing a success story with its dietary supplements.

Due to rising life expectancy worldwide, many renowned international research teams are studying the phenomena of cell aging and cell renewal. Molecular biologists Frank Madeo and Tobias Eisenberg, together with their team in Graz, were able to demonstrate that spermidine — a molecule proven to be responsible for cell renewal and found in high concentrations in wheat germ — is increasingly broken down in the human body from the age of 30 onward. However, (additional) intake of this top molecule, for example through dietary supplements, stimulates the body’s own cell renewal process, helping cells stay young and healthy. In 2019, Longevity Labs+ became the first producer to develop spermidine capsules for oral intake and successfully bring them to market.

International sales activities – market entry into the USA

The popularity of dietary supplements is rising rapidly worldwide, with the USA regarded as the most important core market globally in this sector. Although early players focused on enhanced cell renewal (autophagy) have already successfully established various products in the US market, Longevity Labs+ dared to take the bold and challenging step of entering the fiercely competitive American market with their product, so as not to leave the field of “halting cell aging” dietary supplements entirely to international corporations.

Courage paid off. With the help of the ExportKnowHow project from the Internationalization Center Styria, the established Styrian SME was able to attract international business partners and successfully tap into a new market.

With the help of creative and motivated minds, a drive for innovation, and the great vision of this Styrian company to enable as many people as possible to live a long and healthy life, further new product developments are already in planning and realization.
