The wine château of the Thaller family is nestled among vineyards in the heart of Styria’s thermal spa and volcanic region, inviting guests to linger and enjoy. For more than 30 years, the family has dedicated itself at its winery to the production of premium quality wines, and also operates a farm shop as well as its own wine tavern. The wine château provides a picturesque backdrop for numerous events, from private occasions to corporate and cultural events.

Sales to private and hospitality customers beyond national borders are handled via its own online shop and a network of intermediaries. The owners learned about ICS services through a newsletter article and, with support from ICS funding expert Marion Kikinger, applied for the Digital Marketing Voucher and the Internationalisation Voucher from the “go-international” funding initiative to enter the Swiss market.

The Thaller family reports: “The project was a complete success. Together with our distribution partner, we succeeded in winning hospitality and private customers. By placing advertisements in trade media, we were able to establish contacts with two additional intermediaries. The processing of the funding was very straightforward and uncomplicated, and Ms Kikinger supported us throughout the entire process with expert advice. Further steps towards internationalisation are already being planned.”

We are very pleased with the successful course of the project and will also be happy to continue providing advice in the future.
