Mathias Wenzel of Weinschloss Koarl Thaller has been participating in the “Marketplace Austria for Food & Beverages” B2B event for years. Organized by AUSSENWIRTSCHAFT AUSTRIA in cooperation with the Enterprise Europe Network, the event offers a unique platform for presenting Austrian wines to an international audience.

The Start of a New Partnership

In 2023, a young Polish trading company specializing in the distribution of international wines in the Krakow region also took part in the event in Vienna. The personal meeting with Mathias Wenzel at this event proved to be a decisive moment for both companies.

The direct exchange at the Marketplace laid the foundation for future collaboration. Shortly after the event, the Polish trading company visited the Koarl Thaller winery to finalize a long-term wine supply agreement.

Early Successes and Long-Term Goals

Just a short time later, the first wine deliveries to Poland were successfully carried out. Both companies are aiming for a long-term partnership to establish the high-quality wines from Styria’s Thermen- und Vulkanland region in the Polish market.

Conclusion

Participation in international B2B events such as Marketplace Austria for Food & Beverages proves to be a valuable opportunity to open up new markets and build long-term partnerships. The success story of Weinschloss Koarl Thaller underscores the importance of such platforms in promoting top Austrian products on the global market.

As early as March 2023, the ICS was able to support the Thaller family by helping them apply for the Digital Marketing Voucher and the Internationalization Voucher under the “go-international” funding initiative, which led to the successful entry into the Swiss market.
